Schlieper has offers

Wexford (Pa.) North Allegheny offensive tackle Ryan Schlieper was one of the better looking prospects at the recent Columbus NIKE Training Camp and now the 6-foot-5, 280-pounder is starting to garner even more interest from the college coaches.
"I have offers from FIU, Buffalo, Delaware and UConn," Schlieper said. "I'm also hearing from Michigan, Stanford, Northwestern Rutgers, Penn State, Ohio State, NC State, Purdue, Syracuse, Indiana and Pitt.

"I'd say Pitt, Stanford, Michigan, Virginia and Penn State are the most consistent and constant teams that have been contacting me that are yet to offer."
Schlieper said he's really impressed by two of the head coaches recruiting him.
"Coach Dave Wannstedt at Pitt is really great," he said. "He's a nice guy. And Al Groh from Virginia, he's pretty cool, too. I'm really drawn toward them because of how confident and how nice they are. I've watched them on TV before and I like how their composure is."
Schlieper plans to be busy this summer at several camps.
"Michigan is a camp I'm going to for sure," he said. "Michigan said they will offer me if I do well at their camp, so I'm looking forward to doing well there. Then I'll be at Northwestern in two weeks. I went to the Nike Columbus training camp. It was a lot of fun. It was a good time."
Schlieper would like to decide early if he can.
"Academics and the reputation of the school in football will be the key factors when I make a pick," he said. "My parents are just being supportive and trying to help. They're not trying to sway me. All they really care about is that I'm going to college. I'm not sure if I'm going to visit schools or decide before my senior season. I'm just going to wait see who offers me and then I'll visit."
"I want to decide before my senior year for security. I just want to know where I'm going and where I will be and if I get hurt they're not going to just pull my scholarship or something like that"
