Scarlett wowed by major offers

Last week was incredibly productive and exciting for Cameron Scarlett, the top-rated player in Oregon by Rivals.com.
The Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic three-star running back landed offers from Stanford and Oregon and those two powerhouses have emerged as some early favorites in his recruitment.

"The day before Stanford offered they told my coach they planned on offering they just had to look at my transcripts and then they'd get back to me," Scarlett said.
"When I was at school I got the news I needed to call the coach so I called him and he told me they were looking at me for a while and they wanted to offer me a full scholarship.
"The next morning Oregon messaged me and told me to call them and they pretty much told me the same thing."
Stanford and Oregon join Arizona State, BYU, Oregon State and Washington State on the offer list for Scarlett, who finished with 1,640 yards and 22 touchdowns on 141 carries in his junior season.
Landing those two Pac-12 offers is definitely big and gives Scarlett much more to consider in the coming months.
"For sure those two are definitely big and exciting just because of how big the programs are," Scarlett said.
"Stanford has a great academic side so that really draws me to it and Oregon just because they're close. They always compete and they're both standout programs across the nation so that draws me to those schools.
"I'm going to stay patient until a little bit later in the spring and then start going out and looking at some schools."
Scarlett's brother, Brennan, plays at Cal but the 2015 prospect said that shouldn't play a major factor in his decision-making process.
