Scarlett in official visit mode

Cameron Scarlett recently took his first official visit to Washington.
The four-star all-purpose back from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic did not know exactly what to expect but Scarlett said it was an outstanding experience and that the Huskies really impressed him in every possible area.

"That was my first official visit and I didn't know exactly what to expect but I was really excited and it really met all my expectations," Scarlett said. "I had a great time. I got to see all the ins-and-outs of the program and the school and the facilities. I also got to meet with a lot of the coaches and players and build relationships so that was really good.
"The atmosphere up there is crazy. The crowd was really into it. The players had a swagger to them and they were ready to go. The stadium brings a lot to the program."
The coaches really stood out to Scarlett, a four-star prospect who's rated as the eighth-best all-purpose back in the 2015 class by Rivals.com. Washington has a lot to offer and Scarlett said one of the big things is the coaching staff.
"Their coaching staff really cares about the player but also developing people," Scarlett said.
"That's what stood out the most. Coach (Chris) Petersen really cares about his players. I could tell that by just spending 30 minutes with him and the running backs coach is really personable. All the guys I talked to said they really liked him and I saw that, too."
Scarlett was supposed to visit UCLA this weekend but that trip got pushed back until sometime during basketball season. His trip to Notre Dame next weekend when it hosts North Carolina is still on.
No date has been figured out for visits to Oregon or Stanford, either. Stanford coach David Shaw was spotted at Central Catholic's recent game against Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco and there's a feeling the Cardinal is moving up fast in Scarlett's recruitment.
"He told me he was going to come out," Scarlett said. "It's really cool. It's definitely something that shows how much they care and how interested they are. That gives me a certain feeling for Stanford to know they're really, really interested in me."
