Scarlett about ready to trim list

Cameron Scarlett is just about ready to narrow down his list and that's important since the Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic running back has so many top programs recruiting him.
"I have not officially narrowed it down yet but I will probably do it in the next couple weeks," Scarlett said.

The top-rated player in the Oregon state rankings by Rivals.com said Oregon, Stanford and Notre Dame will certainly make his list of five favorites.
Those three programs have consistently recruited Scarlett the hardest and, in turn, the four-star has a lot of interest in those teams.
After the Portland Central Catholic standout gets time to narrow his list for good, he's going to focus on setting up official visits during the season and he hopes to make a commitment before his senior season is finished.
"Those are the three schools that have had the most interest in me so far and I'm really interested in them," Scarlett said. "There are a couple others I have in mind but I'll officially narrow it down here soon.
"I'm going to get a couple more schools in there and then out of those five I should know one of them will be the best one for me. I'll take my officials to hopefully all five during the season and then choose during the season."
Scarlett, the eighth-best all-purpose back in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, has talked a lot about Oregon, Stanford and Notre Dame and he also has a lot of interest in UCLA.
The four-star said it was a memorable visit when he went to Westwood with his brother, Brennan, and that he absolutely loves the campus. The Bruins have offered so they could very much be in play as well.
"The last (offer) was UCLA and that one is really interesting to me," Scarlett said. "I like UCLA. When I visited there with my brother when he was getting recruited that was my favorite. I really liked their campus and I've followed UCLA ever since."
