Scandrick down to two
Los Alamitos (Calif.) athlete Orlando Scandrick has cut his list of schools down to two. He will be playing his college ball in the Pac 10 somewhere in the Northwest and the only question now is where and what position.

Scandrick, 5-10, 170 pounds plays both corner and receiver and is getting looks on both sides of the ball. He took his only official visit to Washington State (Nov. 19) and said he loved everything about it.
“It was great,” Scandrick said. “I got along really well with the players and coaches and felt very comfortable there. Pullman is a cool city. They really get behind their football team and I like that. It’s kind of smaller town but it’s a college town and Washington State sports are like the only game in town so the fan support is great there.
“They’re recruiting me as a receiver and that’s really where I want to play in college. My other school is Oregon and I’m visiting there (Jan. 7). They’re recruiting me as a corner. I prefer receiver but I’ll play whatever gets me on the field the fastest. The position I’m being recruited at won’t have that big of an impact on where I go. It’s going to be more important to me to pick the best college for me and where I feel the most comfortable.”
Childs has had home visits with Washington State, Oregon and Fresno State and said Boise State is coming in tomorrow. Scandrick said even though he has his final two, he’s still not closing any doors.
“I still want to listen to Boise State,”Scandrick said. “Who knows what could happen in recruiting. Washington State is only bringing in one more receiver so if someone commits before I visit Oregon, I could be left out. Same thing with Oregon so I don’t want to burn any bridges and I think Boise State is a good school so I’m looking forward to what they have to offer.”
Scandrick and his Los Al squad will be playing for the Div I CIF Championship this Friday against area rival Long Beach Poly.
