Lehigh Acres (Fla.) East Lee County cornerback Kendall Sawyer has yet to take any visits thus far, but he is working to set-up his trips. Sawyer wants to visit Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, USF, West Virginia.
He enjoyed attending the Florida State camp in Tallahassee this summer and liked with defensive backs coach Jeremy Pruitt.
"Coach Pruitt is straight-forward," Sawyer said. "He didn't try to tell me I did something good when I did something bad. I like that."
Sawyer said the Bulls are recruiting him the hardest. He didn't attend the USF-Miami game this past weekend, but he will eventually make it to Raymond James Stadium.
He wants to go to the FSU-UM game in November, but a conflict of interest may keep him away.
"The thing is I don't know how it's going to look if I go to a game where two teams are recruiting me, so I don't know about that," Sawyer said.
The out-of-state schools may offer early playing time, something that is a factor for Sawyer in his recruitment.
"I know with Ole Miss they are young so I'll get a chance to play," Sawyer said. "With West Virginia, it's almost the same with their DB's."
Although Sawyer plays both offense and defense in high school, all the schools looking at him now are focusing on his abilities as a defensive back. The three-star prospect said he is focused on his senior campaign and will likely decide sometime after the season.
