Saunders ready to follow schools trend

After three prospects signed Division I scholarships from Greenacres (Fla.) John I. Leonard, 2007 prospect Brian Saunders is the next up to bat. The 6-foot, 210-pound inside linebacker can play anything across the linebacker corps and even some rover/safety work.
Saunders, an all-conference and second-team all-area selection, started his career as a junior. The transition was a difficult one at first, but Saunders soon found his comfort zone and now has colleges showing some love.

"A lot of schools are coming on now," Saunders said. "Georgia Tech, Louisville, Iowa, UCF, FAU, Wake Forest, and some other ones are sending me stuff. It's a lot of different schools really."
A couple of programs are standing out early.
"If I could probably say a favorite today, I'd look at Florida State or maybe Louisville," Saunders said. "I think both have good coaches and I feel like their defensive coordinators know what they're talking about. They could make me be a better athlete."
Saunders hasn't made it to any junior days, but plans to hit up some camps this summer. One thing he wants to show people is his versatility when it comes to playing defense.
"I see myself as anything that I can make a play at," he said. "I only really play linebacker, but every once in a while I'll line up at safety. I like linebacker better, honestly, but I'll do whatever helps the team. I can play all over the field."
