Saugus battery mates making noise

When an opposing coach gives you a tip about rival players, you tend listen. When Pac10Recruiting interviewed Valencia head coach Brian Stiman about his own fine players, he told us that we should check into Saugus, Calif., wide receiver Kevin Estes and his quarterback Chris Ahlheim.
Estes stands 5-foot-10, weighs 178, and his 40-yard das time was clocked at the Nike camp at USC in 4.5. He has a solid bench of 240 pounds.

Stiman told us that this guy catches everything near him.
Sounds like Stiman was right, Estes caught 56 passes for 1,012 yards and nine touchdowns his junior season. His honors for his feat included all-CIF, all-area and all-league.
Stiman wasn’t the only one to heap praise on Estes. His own head coach Ron Hilton was equal or more in his admiration for his wide receiver. “We can throw the ball to Kevin in any situation and he will come up with the catch,” Saugus head coach Ron Hilton said. “By the time Kevin’s senior season is over, he will hold every school receiving record. Kevin is legit.”
Estes runs great routes and is very quick off the line of scrimmage, making it very difficult to jam him. Estes is one of those guys that are described as “football fast”.
Like all great players, Estes is a hard worker and he’s toiling very hard in the off-season to improve his game. He has been invited to the USC, Oregon and Colorado football camps.
Estes is an adaptable player who has played some defensive back in key situations, but this season he is slated to go both ways his senior season.
Washington State, Oregon, ASU, Colorado and Nevada are showing interest in Estes…
Ahlheim is the man in charge of making sure the ball gets to Estes. He stands 6-foot-2, weighs 170 and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds.
“Chris throws a nice pass and has an excellent delivery,” Hilton said. “He also not afraid to tuck the ball and run to avoid taking a sack. Chris is the type of quarterback who can make plays with his feet as well as his arm.”
Ahlheim had 125 completions on 217 attempts for 1,927 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior. He completed 58% of his passes. Ahlheim was selected all-league and all-CIF his junior season.
Ahlheim is also an outstanding baseball player who is being recruited for exploits on the baseball diamond. USC has shown ample interest in Ahlheim for his baseball skills.
ASU, Colorado, Washington State and Oregon like him for his football skills…
