Sarell humbled by Alabama offer

Four-star offensive tackle Foster Sarell has drawn the attention of coaches from across the country during the spring evaluation period, making Graham (Wash.) Kapowsin a popular stop in recent weeks.
On Monday, the 6-foot-6, 315-pound prospect from the small town generated major buzz by landing an offer from Alabama.

"For me, the Alabama offer is humbling and it shows me that all the work is paying off," Sarell said. "Coach (Tosh) Lupoi came to our school and then he offered me when I called him later. It was exciting, of course, because that's a big-name school. To have them interested in you is definitely humbling.
"Coach Lupoi was telling me they liked my film, and how athletic and big I looked."
The Crimson Tide joined a bevy of others that have made the early Rivals100 member a priority for the 2017 class. Sarell also holds offers from the likes of Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA and Washington, among others. Yet despite all the attention, Sarell said he is taking things slowly.
"It's always been pretty open and I still don't want to a specific order," Sarell said. "I'm not discounting any schools yet, but it's definitely hard not to look at an Alabama with so many national championships and first-round draft picks. I'll analyze everything."
Oregon could draw a visit in mid June, Sarell said, but that's the only possibility he knows of for this summer. He also has a trip set for Las Vegas where he'll participate in a basketball tournament.
USC, meanwhile, could be the next prominent program to join the chase for Sarell.
"USC has come by twice this spring and they could be offering soon, but I'm not sure," Sarell said. "Coach (Justin) Wilcox came first and then the offensive line coach (Bob Connelly) was at our school last week. An offer from USC would be cool as well. That would be awesome and exciting."
Though Sarell said it's great to have some options on the West Coast, he's not set on staying close to home for college.
"Playing in front of my family every week could an appealing factor because I definitely wouldn't mind staying close to home, but I would go anywhere for the perfect fit," Sarell said.
