Sanzenbacher commits to Ohio State

Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher had his meeting with his family, coach and counselor this afternoon, then later called Jim Tressel and committed to Ohio State.
"I called coach Tressel and committed," Sanzenbacher said. "He was in his car when I got a hold of him.

"He said it's great to have me on board and now he wants me to just concentrate on winning another state tile at Central Catholic."
The 5-foot-11 and 174-pound Sanzenbacher caught close to 70 passes for 1500 yards and 16 touchdowns in leading his team to a state title during his junior season. He also made over 60 tackles and had 11 interceptions.
Sanzenbacker also had scholarship offers from Iowa, Bowling Green, Toledo and Miami of Ohio among others before selecting OSU.
"Obviously growing up in Ohio was a big factor," Sanzenbacher said. "You can't beat Ohio State. They go to a bowl game every year and compete for a national title.
"And I really like the Columbus area. I like how the coaches treated me when I was down there. It's just the best place to be."
Sanzenbacher made a swift rise up the recruiting charts after impressive summer camp performances including the Buckeyes' camp and Iowa's camp.
