Sanzenbacher a rising star

Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher has had an eventful past couple of weeks that culminated in scholarship offers from two Big Ten schools.
Sanzenbacher went on the Ted Ginn Sr. tour of college football camps, attending 12 in all. Included in that trip were stops at Ball State, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, Marshall, Iowa, Illinois, Purdue and Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes offered Sanzenbacher a scholarship right after their camp.

"I have eight offers right now," Sanzenbacher said. "I have Kent State, Ball State, Ohio University, Toledo, Bowling Green, Iowa, Miami of Ohio and Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are the latest to offer, doing so after Sanzenbacher attended their senior advanced camp on Saturday.
"Coach (Jim) Tressel couldn't talk to me there," Sanzenbacher said. "So he sent me a text message saying I had a great camp, and he's excited about me. He said they have a scholarship for me and to get in touch with them.
Sanzenbacher is very interested in the Buckeyes offer, though he may not be ready to make a decision quite yet.
"I don't think I'll commit right away," he said. "But (Ohio State) is definitely up there on my list.
"And I like Miami too. And Toledo and Bowling Green."
When asked when he hopes to select a college, Sanzenbacher said, "I really want to get it done before the season starts. But I won't rush it."
The 5-foot-11 and 174-pound Sanzenbacher plays both wide receiver and cornerback, and also returns punts and kickoffs.
Sanzenbacher caught close to 70 passes for 1500 yards and 16 touchdowns during his junior season. He also made over 60 tackles and had 11 interceptions.
Sanzenbacher, who returned an interception for a score as well as a punt, finished fourth in the state in the 400 meter dash during track season.
