Santos making time for travel

Between track, wrestling and the thought of participating in lacrosse, four-star offensive lineman Julian Santos manages to stay busy in the offseason. The Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake offensive guard has still managed to squeeze in time for a singular recruiting trip, though.
And while Santos plans to travel more this summer, a trip to Florida State for a spring practice is the only visit currently in the books.

"Florida State is all I've been able to do right now," Santos said. "I loved the layout of the campus. It looks beautiful to me. [offensive line] coach [Rick] Trickett is a great coach and everything Jimbo [Fisher] teaches is just amazing. Having George Campbell up there, that's definitely cool. Having a friend that's living though all of that is definitely cool."
Florida State is yet to extend a scholarship offer in Santos' direction but is thought to be seriously mulling making things official. There are plenty of other schools that already have, however, and Santos is starting to plot a plan of attack when it comes to investigating them.
The Rivals250 lineman may be busy, but his eventual decision will be an informed one nevertheless. His summer will be a busy one.
"I plan on hopefully getting up to Ole Miss and North Carolina. I want to see what they have, I'm going to head to Clemson this summer and check that out, too."
Santos plans to avoid naming frontrunners or schools of interest until he's able to see more campuses in person. His hesitance to make many bold claims is also driven in part by a belief that his opportunities may soon expand. Clemson, Florida, Florida State and Oklahoma are all involved in Santos' recruitment and Santos feels one or all could be close to offering a scholarship.
"All of those schools say they're going to come by the school and see me in the spring," Santos said. "I think I might get more offers."
