Sanford visiting SEC school this weekend

Xenia (Ohio) safety James Sanford received four written offers in the month of August, and continues to receive interest from other schools. This weekend he will make the drive down to an SEC school that has been showing interest of late.
"Next weekend I am going to see Kentucky vs. Florida," Sanford said. "I've been getting letters from [Kentucky] and they've been saying they want to see my film from early games."

Other schools that are looking to see early game film from the 6-2, 181-pound Sanford include Bowling Green, Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan State and Cincinnati. The four written offers came in last month from West Virginia, Toledo, Ohio and Marshall.
"I'm just waiting to see how things go right now, really," Sanford said. "I'm not waiting for anybody in particular, but I'm just thinking it over right now."
Sanford received a verbal offer from Michigan State back in the spring, and although he has yet to receive their written offer, the Spartans are the team standing out most at this time.
"I like Michigan State and their coaching staff," Sanford said. "I have to get in touch with them again. It's been a little bit since I last talked to them."
Sanford also has strong interest in West Virginia. He has yet to visit Morgantown, but is looking at his schedule to see when a trip there would be feasible.
"I'm going to try and make it to one of their games," Sanford said. "Coach [Steve] Dunlap calls once a week. They are saying they need me and like me."
Sanford did attend an early season game at Bowling Green, but his focus has been primarily centered on his high school team. Xenia is 1-3 on the season with Sanford playing running back and safety. He has scored one rushing touchdown, returned a kickoff 92 yards for another score, blocked both a punt and a PAT and has an interception on defense.
