Sandland garners major SEC offer

Beau Sandland talked with LSU tight ends coach Steve Ensminger on Sunday but was not sure if he had an offer from the Tigers.
So the Woodland Hills (Calif.) Pierce C.C. tight end called back on Monday and got the word that, yes, LSU was now on his offer list.
Sandland, a 6-foot-6, 250-pound recruit, said his newest offer is huge.

"My first contact was with them (Sunday) night with their tight ends coach and I talked to him for a while," Sandland said. "I wasn't really clear if they extended an offer so I called them again (Monday) because I didn't want to assume anything. He said they definitely offered me.
"It's huge. It's probably the biggest one to date as far as offers go. Let alone being in the SEC and playing for the national championship last year, in my mind they're one of the top five schools in the nation. They put people in the NFL and with coach (Les) Miles down there, the way they run their program it speaks for itself."
LSU joins Arizona, Baylor, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Miami, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Texas Tech and Utah on Sandland's offer list.
The junior college prospect said he still plans to take his time because many other programs are showing interest and he wants to make the best decision.
Sandland said USC, Oklahoma, Washington, Purdue and Rutgers have all gotten involved and he's waiting to see which other programs offer in the coming months.
"I'm not going to hop on anything," Sandland said.
"I'm going to keep a cool head. Just because a big-time offer like this comes along I'm still going to think about things and keep my options open. As of right now I'm still going to wait until December but that could change."
