San Diego WR about hit stride

At the present moment wide receiver/safety Duante Jones (6-3, 210, 4.5) from San Diego (Calif.) Patrick Henry is flying underneath the recruitnek's radar. Look for that to change once word gets out on his ability.
One thing that is for sure, D-I schools are always looking for athletic, tall and fast wide receivers who can jump out of a gym. Jones is all of these things. Jones has recorded a 38-inch vertical jump.

As a junior, Jones earned first-team all-league honors after hauling in 49 receptions for 780 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 15.9 yards per catch.
The main reason that Jones is flying under the radar is because Patrick Henry had a coaching change making it hard for D-I schools to get pertinent information on recruits from the school.
The scouting report on Jones is he has the size D-I schools like in the modern wide receiver. Add into the equation that he runs nice routes and has good hands then you have the making of an outstanding wide receiver.
Rolando Garcia of sandiegoballers.com thinks he knows why Jones will end up a highly sought after recruit.
"Duante is a great leaper who will use that ability to go up and make the catch," Garcia said. "He has excellent body control in the air."
"The thing that makes him even more dangerous as a wide receiver is he runs really well after the catch," Garcia said. "He's a very physical wide receiver."
What is Jones looking for in a school?
"I want to major in psychology," Jones said. "So a school that is strong in that department will be an important consideration."
"I would also like to play close to home, but that would not be a deal ender, but I would like to stay on the west coast" Jones said. "I also want to play for that has a passing offense."
In the early going, Cal and Nevada are showing interest in Jones and are ahead of the recruiting curve.
