San Diego sleeper making name

Running back Kevin Smith (5-9, 185, 4.5) from San Diego (Calif.) Helix is a sleeper who had a nice showing at the NIKE Camp held in San Diego way back in April. He’s a standout for one of the best programs in San Diego. Helix is the same school that produced Reggie Bush (USC) among others.
Smith will move to running back for his senior season after playing wingback as a junior. He was one of the reasons that Helix high had 10-3 record and a date in the San Diego Section Division I CIF championship game that resulted in a loss to league rival Monte Vista.

From his wingback position Smith rushed for 472 yards and scored seven touchdowns. Smith caught a few passes, but he didn’t have an exact count. He has an outstanding pair of hands.
The scouting report on Smith is he’s a slashing running back with power and vision. He’s also an excellent cutback runner.
Smith also participates in tack and performing in the high jump event.
Smith is known as a hard worker on and off the field. In the weight room he benches 240 and at the NIKE Camp held in San Diego he benched 185, 10 times and recorded a 34-inch vertical jump. He is solid student who is already qualified with a 2.82 GPA and 880 SAT.
Utah, San Diego State, Fresno State, Boise State, Colorado, Washington, Arizona and Arizona State have all contacted Smith and are showing recruiting interest in him.
What does Smith want in a school?
“I would like to stay on the west coast if I could,” Smith said. “”I’m looking for a nice college atmosphere.”
Smith could end up playing some defensive back in 2004.
