San Diego safety delivers a wallop

Safety Jessie Hobbs (5-11, 180, 4.6) from San Diego (Calif.) Serra has the reputation of being a lethal hitter who loves to mix it up.
Hobbs earned all-league as a junior after collecting 75 tackles, two forced fumbles, one sack and one interception.

On the recruiting trail, he has heard from Arizona, UCLA, USC and San Diego State have made contact. He is planning on attending the USC and UCLA football camps this summer. Before he does, he plans to attend the NIKE Camp to be held in Los Angeles on April 19th.
Rolando Garcia of sandiegoballers.com, a nonprofit organization that films and keeps track of San Diego's best football players had the following to say about Hobbs.
"When you see Jessie on the field or warming up you know he is a guy," Garcia said. "He's very athletic and his footwork is very good."
"The thing that we love about Jessie is, he makes plays," Garcia said. "He's very disciplined on the field and in the classroom. He carries an outstanding 4.1 GPA."
"Right now Jessie is flying a little bit under the radar, but that should change as the spring evaluation period approaches."
In the weight room, Hobbs his current bench 230, squats 350, power cleans 195 and has recorded a 31-inch vertical.
