San Diego athlete is nearing decision

The very versatile and athletic Jason Klingerman (6-1, 260, 4.9) from Valley Center, Calif., made an early decision to attend Colorado State, but all that changed when Sonny Lubick was relieved of his duties as head football coach for the Rams.
It now appears Klingerman is once again close to making his college decision.

"It is down to Colorado State, San Diego State, and Utah State," Valley Center coach Rob Gilster said. "It changes daily, but he will probably make his mind up later this week.
"Jason originally committed to Colorado State, but when Coach Sonny Lubick left, he opened things up," Gilster said. "Whoever lands Jason will be getting a very versatile and powerful player.
"Jason took a visit to Utah State just this past weekend," Gilster said. "He liked it because Logan is kind of a college town and he would have an opportunity to play early in his career.
"Jason is mainly getting recruited as an H-back or fullback,' Gilster said. "San Diego State likes him as a defensive tackle or nose guard.
"There is a chance that he could end up playing the back in a single back offense, but most likely he will play H-back or some kind of big lead blocking back."
