San Diego athlete get first offer

Cornerback/wide receiver Anthony Houston (6-4, 200, 4.55) from San Diego (Calif.) Mission Bay has received his first offer and if early recruiting interest is any indication of offers to come then look for his offers to climb this spring.
"Anthony is hearing from everybody and he's already received an offer from Nebraska," Mission Bay coach Dennis Pugh said. "It is easy to see why he is being so heavily recruited, he's a legit player."

Houston is a standout on both sides of the football. As a wide receiver, he led the team in receptions with 17. He also had 253 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
On defense, from his cornerback position Houston racked up 31 tackles and had two picks.
Houston wants to play wide receiver but cornerback any be his best position on the D-I level.
"Guys with his height and speed are very hard to find," Pugh said. "He has the size to play with the bigger wide receivers that the game is seeing much today."
"Anthony is a great athlete," Pugh said. "His best football is in front of him. Anthony still has a lot of untapped potential."
"You don't see a guy like Anthony come around all the time," Pugh said. "He kind of reminds me of Kellen Winslow, Jr., when he playing around here."
"I haven't had a guy get this much recruiting attention in awhile," Pugh said. "The last time was probably Scott White who is a starting linebacker for Washington."
Besides Nebraska, Houston is getting recruiting attention from San Diego State where is brother is a redshirt freshman linebacker, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State.
"Anthony is definitely a Pac-10 caliber player," Pugh said. "Again he has excellent size and athleticism."
