Sammons to visit Duke next

Four-star defensive end Prince Sammons of Cincinnati (Ohio) Hills Christian Academy took his first official visit of the process back in September to Oregon, a trip his father said Prince, "really liked what he saw." . Official visit No. 2 will take place the weekend of Dec. 11 and will go to Duke. He just finished a senior season in which he was named all-Southwest Ohio Defensive Player of the Year.

WHAT'S NEXT? Duke was supposed to have an in-home visit with Sammons Monday night, but due to a team banquet the meeting took place at school between assistant coach John Latina and his parents. Other schools are still in conversation for official visits. Vanderbilt is one that has a high likelihood of receiving an official visit, if his recruitment goes into January.
QUOTABLE: "He doesn't have anything else set up yet, but there's a couple that he is looking at possibly setting up either later in December or in January. I think at most he would take four total. I'd be surprised if he took all five." -Brandon Sammons, Prince's father.
RIVALS' REACTION: The high-academic schools are drawing the strongest looks from Sammons. He did not grow up in the United States and only recently has been introduced to the college football culture in this country. He is a strong student in the classroom and the programs that give him an opportunity to get a highly-regarded degree and play Power Five football look to be in the best position. There is a lot of discussion that Duke is the leader going into his visit to Durham next weekend.
