Same old, same old for Johnson

The last time Rivals.com caught up with Norco (Calif.) offensive lineman Kyle Johnson, he had several offers on the table, had Arizona State leading the way and had yet to set his visits. Fast forward a month and things remain pretty much the same.
Johnson, 6-6, 250 pounds is one of the top tackle prospects in the West region. He has a nice frame and will easily be able to pack on another 30 pounds or so with no problems. He moves well, has long arms and like all lineman from Norco, is very physical and well coached.

Johnson has a pair of teammates who signed with ASU a year ago, Garth Gerhart and Adam Tello and the Sun Devils are in a good position right now.
"Yeah, ASU is still my top school," Johnson said. "I still want to take my trips though and I'm not close to making a commitment anywhere.
"I didn't get to take any unofficial trips this past spring or summer so I don't know what is out there. I've never been to any of the colleges recruiting me so hopefully I can take all my trips before making a commitment.
"I'm for sure going to visit ASU and I know I want to visit Colorado and Oregon State too. I'm going to go check out UCLA pretty soon here to watch a practice. They haven't offered me but they're showing a lot of interest in me as well.
"Right now, I'm open to everyone who is recruiting me and plan to take my time with everything. One of my coaches told me the thing to do is take football out of the equation and then ask myself, 'is this a school I would want to be at if I couldn't play football.'
"So that's what I'm going to do. Location doesn't mean much to me, I'll play wherever. I actually prefer cold weather, which is kind of funny because ASU is hot, but it won't really play that big of a role. It would be nice, but not that important."
