Sales going out with a bang

For a competitor like Marcus Sales, it must feel odd to only have one more high school football game to look forward to. The Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers wide receiver is widely expected to make a big impact at the college level, but right now he's focused on going out with a bang. He recently took his first official visit. How did it go?
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound receiver left it all on the field in this his senior season, but it wasn't enough to earn a berth in the playoffs.

"We did all we could but we came up short," Sales said. "We've only got one more game left. I'm just going to try to leave it all on the field and go out with a bang."
While much of his focus has been on his current season Sales has managed to spend a good amount of time sorting through the recruiting process. He took an official visit to North Carolina a couple of weekends ago for the Tar Heels' game against South Carolina. What was his impression of the school?
"It was really nice down there," he said. "I liked it a lot. I really liked the stadium and the fans. They showed a lot of support for the team even though their record isn't that good. The fans understand they're going to win games, it's just a matter of time.
"I really like the fact that they have really good academics. Coach Pagano has been recruiting me and we get along well."
Sales said North Carolina is near the top of his list, but he has a few other options to consider.
"I was going to take an official to Pitt the week after I went to Carolina but I had a scheduling conflict. I'm going to reschedule that for sometime in November but I'm not sure exactly when yet.
"I'm still looking at Boston College and Syracuse too. I think I want to set up an official visit to Boston College before I make my decision. I'd like to get up there and check out their facilities and see how I get along with the guys on their team. I just really like their offense. It's really balanced. I know they have good academics too, and the coaching staff is good."
Sales said he would likely make his decision after taking official visits to Pitt and Boston College.
