Saffle impressed by visit

Cameron Saffle liked Washington a lot and things got even stronger after his visit this weekend for the Huskies' junior day.
The three-star outside linebacker from Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline said he was especially impressed with the new coaching staff. They struck him as more professional and more upbeat and that means the Huskies are definitely high on his list.

"It was good," Saffle said. "It was good to rekindle everything over there especially with the new staff.
"I met coach (Chris Petersen) last week and I talked to him a little bit (Saturday). Before I left he said he was excited to see how I would do in the spring. He's really excited to see me play.
"I talked a little more with the d-line coach and we're starting to become really familiar with each other. I went with coach (Pete) Kwiatkowski and I went with that group to see his coaching style. Before I left the d-line coach said he would message me in a few days and talk to me a little more."
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound standout has not received any offers yet but he's hopeful something could be coming soon from Washington.
Saffle, who is also hearing from Cal, Washington State, Oregon State and others, said he's supposed to talk again with the Washington staff soon and he's hopeful an offer could be close.
If not, the Huskies will stay high on his list but an offer would be a major thing in his recruitment.
"They didn't say anything about an offer," Saffle said. "I'm not too worried about it. It would have been awesome if it happened. It's not too big of a deal. Hopefully the coaches say something soon but if not I'll keep grinding and hopefully it will come soon.
"I thought the coaching staff was so much more upbeat. It seemed like a business-type style and the presentations they gave (Saturday) gave me a whole different outlook on the program. I liked it a lot more. It seemed a lot more professional."
