Safety sleeper gaining notice

With more and more prospects making early commitments, it makes it tough for a sleeper prospect to make a impact on college recruiters as a senior.
Texas City, Texas athlete Johnny Thomas had nine interceptions as a junior on a senior-laden Stingaree team.

Through the first four games this season, Thomas has rushed for 627 yards, has returned kicks for touchdowns and spots in the defensive backfield.
"He's so versatile," Texas City coach Tim Finn said. "He's got great size, great speed and great athleticism. What gives on the recruiting front?"
Thomas has been officially offered by Rice University, but is waiting on offers from the likes of Houston, Arizona State, TCU, Vanderbilt and others.
Thomas participated in several summer camps and also stars on the Stingaree track team.
"He's a talented kid with great grades also," Finn said. "He's the total package."
