Position: Safety
Size and speed: Tripp Branch is 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds. He ran a 4.52 electronically timed 40-yard dash at recent combine in San Antonio.
Statistics: He had 79 tackles, eight pass tips, and one sack as a junior.
Honors: He made second team all-district.
Favorite Schools: He is hearing from "TCU, Boston College, Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Rice and Colorado. TCU is the school that's recruiting the hardest.
Also, "TCU is the favorite. I've always dreamed of going there, and if they offer, that's where I'm going."
If he could make his official visits today, he would go to:
TCU: "I like the coaches, and the fan support is great. I would rather go to a smaller school, such as TCU."
Texas: "I've grown up in Texas and have always been a fan."
Baylor: "I've heard a lot of good things about it, as my uncle played basketball there."
Texas Tech: "They have good fan support there."
Boston College: "I want to visit to hear more about them and to see the school."
Skinny: He plans to attend summer camps at Colorado and possible one-day camps at TCU and Texas Tech.
"I play the run well, and I make good reads." He described himself as basically "an undersized linebacker."
He's undecided on a major and has set his sports goals as making the playoffs for the team and making first team all-city for himself.
Branch benches 260 pounds, squats 360 pounds, and has a vertical leap of approximately 32 inches.
He carries a 3.36 grade point average.
