Sacramento standout getting calls

Sacramento (Calif.) Grant is usually one of the more talented squads in the state of California and this year is no different.
Besides defensive back Xavier Burgess, who has committed to UCLA, Grant also has Richard Harper, Chris Daniels, Nick Hawthorne and Spencer Nova as likely Division I recruits.

Harper is one of the best of the bunch.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound prospect is performing admirably this season while starting on both sides of scrimmage.
As the team’s top running back, he has rushed for more than 700 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. He also has two interceptions as a safety, returning one for a touchdown.
Washington, Oregon, UNLV, Colorado State and Utah State are placing calls to Harper every week, but he has yet to receive his first scholarship offer. USC and UCLA were calling earlier in the recruiting process but the two Los Angeles schools appear to be backing off, according to Harper.
Grant is 6-1 this season and ranked 4th in the city.
Harper maintains a 3.0 GPA.
