Junior to Watch: Marcus Bishop
School: Sacramento (Calif.) Florin

Position: Defensive Back/Running Back
Size and Speed: Bishop stands 5-foot-11 weighs in at 190 pounds and runs the forty in 4.4.
Honors: Bishop was selected all-league and all-section for his junior season.
Statistics: Bishop led Florin in solo tackles with 38 and total tackles with 62. He also had five interceptions from his free safety position. Bishop played running back in Florin’s last playoff game and scampered for 141 yards on only nine carries.
Favorite Colleges: Bishop is a area recruit at this time but the word is he will improve his status encompasses more territory with a strong spring and senior campaign. He has current interest from Fresno State, Idaho, Boise State, UC-Davis, Cal and Oregon.
Skinny: “Marcus is a great kid,” Florin head coach Ed Johnson said. “He is of good character, a great leader and is very coachable.”
Bishop will be a key player for Florin on both sides of the ball as a senior. He is expected to have stellar season as both a running back and defensive back. Bishop has the versatility to play safety or corner.
“Marcus has the type of speed that can’t be taught,” Johnson said. “He has been timed in the forty yard dash in 4.32.”
“Marcus is a tenacious tackler,” Johnson said. “He’s very football smart and aggressive.”
“Marcus will attack the ball,” Johnson said. “He gets a beat on the ball and arrives at the ball before anyone else.”
