S.C. LB talks Clemson visit

After a great season for a rebuilding Greenville (S.C.) Eastside team, 2014 linebacker Nick Sands Jr. is out to prove that he has the talent to play at the next level.
Sands was the defensive leader for Eastside in 2012, tallying a team-high 140 tackles (100 solo) along with an interception and two fumble recoveries. So far, Clemson is showing early interest, inviting Sands on campus for a visit earlier this fall.

"We had a great brunch and went down on the field and watched warm ups," said Sands, who was an unofficial visitor for the North Carolina State game. "I've been to games before as a fan but it was cool to see everything behind-the-scenes and how it all comes together."
Most of Sands primary interest has come from FCS schools, but he's busy filling up his offseason calendar with camp and combine dates.
"That's my biggest goal over the next year," Sands said. "To get out there as much as possible and show coaches that I can play."
Right now, Sands is registered for the Shrine Bowl Combine and is also planning on attending at least a few on-campus camps.
"I'm looking at a lot of camps right now," he said. "I think the best way for me to get noticed is go compete against some of the top guys and show that I can hold my own."
