Rypien ready for first visit

Brett Rypien has not heard much from new schools, but he's taking a visit this weekend and the 2015 quarterback is hopeful an offer could be close.
"We just got started with practice last Monday," Rypien said. "I had a pretty good week and as far as recruiting goes, I'm going to the Boise State-Washington game this weekend. I'm pretty excited for this trip coming up."
The Spokane (Wash.) Shadle Park standout is excited to see Washington's new stadium and it could be a great game, but Rypien also hopes to get a better understanding of where the Huskies stand in his recruitment.
To this point, Rypien hasn't talked much with the Washington staff about an offer but is hopeful that could change soon.
"I haven't really talked with them a whole lot about it," Rypien said. "We've been talking for a while so hopefully an offer will eventually come. I haven't talked to them a whole lot about that."
Rypien camped at Stanford this summer but was not offered. The Cardinal offered Ricky Town instead, but the Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure recruit committed to Alabama earlier this summer.
That could open a spot up for Rypien, so the 2015 quarterback hopes to hear from Stanford's coaches as his junior season continues.
"I haven't talked to a whole lot of coaches ever since practice has been going besides getting my unofficial set up to Washington," Rypien said. "I haven't really heard a whole lot from them. Once the season gets going and they can call me, hopefully it will pick up with them."
So far, Rypien has been offered by Boise State, Colorado State, Idaho, Mississippi State and Washington State. In his sophomore season, the Spokane Shadle Park recruit threw for 3,579 yards with 29 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
