Ryan Purvis announces decision

Lancaster (pa.) Lancaster Catholic tight end Ryan Purvis is ranked as the No. 12 tight end in the country by Rivals.com and the No. 17 player in his home state. However, he'll be taking his skills out of state to play college football.
"Ryan committed to Boston College at 12:20 today on television," said assistant coach John Bisking. "He chose BC over Pitt and UCLA because he just felt it was a better fit. He's happy with his decision."

Purvis, who is 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, visited Boston College on Oct. 24 and felt comfortable.
"It came down to academics and BC's move to the ACC," said Bisking. "He loved the academic reputation of BC and he likes the fact that they're going to be playing the best competition in the country in football. BC wants Ryan as a tight end and said he's the only one they're recruiting at that position, so he felt wanted."
This season Purvis caught approximately 25 catches for more than 300 yards for Lancaster Catholic. As a junior, he had 21 receptions for 322 yards and three touchdowns.
