Rutledge likes three schools

Sugar Land (Texas) Kempner running back Michael Rutledge is still awaiting his first scholarship offer. But, he’s had several schools call.
“Things have been going alright,” he said. “I have had five schools call me since the first of the month.”

Wisconsin, Arizona, UTEP, TCU and North Texas are the schools that have called.
“I really like Wisconsin, Arizona and TCU out of those schools,” the 5-foot-10, 180-
pound Rutledge said. “I don’t have any scholarship offers yet, though.”
The three-star rated Rutledge has not been to any college games yet this fall.
“I haven’t been anywhere yet this fall,” he said. “I have been having games every week so far. We have an off week this week, so I hope to get to either the TCU or Arizona this week.”
Rutledge is looking for the same things many prospects are in a college. He wants to find a good program that will help him along the way.
“I’m looking for a school that has a good football tradition,” he said. “I’m also looking for a school that has a good academic situation. I need to make sure that gets addressed too.”
Rutledge is disappointed in his team’s play so far, but hopes it gets turned around.
“We are 1-2,” he said. “But, we’re going to get better when districts get here. The two losses we had a lot of mental errors and we can overcome that. Individually, I could do a lot better, but I’m doing okay. I have two touchdowns and 310 yards rushing.”
