Rutgers to officially host Butler

Three-star safety Tony Butler and his Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward team are traveling to play St. Joseph Regional Prep in Montvale, N.J. this Saturday in a 1 p.m. ET game. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound prospect will utilize his trip to the Garden State to take his first official visit of the process to Rutgers following his team's game.

WHAT'S NEXT: Butler came out last month and announced a decision date of Oct. 5. Besides the official visit to Rutgers, he also has one scheduled to Arizona State for the weekend of Sept. 25. Clemson and West Virginia round out his top group heading into the final few weeks of his recruitment.
IN HIS WORDS: "They (Rutgers) were the first to recruit me and I'm excited to see the big city and see what they have to offer my family and I."
RIVALS' REACTION: Rutgers was actually outside the top three that Butler named just a couple weeks ago, so getting one of his official visits is a major coup for the Scarlet Knights. The fact that his high school team plays a game in New Jersey this Saturday no doubt helped this official visit come to fruition, but no matter the circumstances Rutgers has won themselves a great opportunity to make a move in this recruitment.
