Rutgers taking hard look at ATH Lucas

Worcester (Mass.) Worcester Academy athlete Jordan Lucas hasn't received as much attention as his more heralded teammate but he has plenty of talent in his own right.
Lucas is the teammate of four-star Virginia commit Canaan Severin and Lucas' name is starting to get out there.

Lucas, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back, recently picked up an offer from UMass, his first offer of the recruiting process.
Now a couple of other schools are hinting they could be close to offering as well.
"I'm getting the most interest from Villanova and Rutgers probably," Lucas said over the weekend.
"Rutgers wants to get me down for a visit and get me to meet the whole coaching staff and everything. They're real high on me because a couple of years back we had some players from New Rochelle (N.Y.), my hometown, get recruited by them. They know my head coach and know a lot about me.
"I haven't been down there for an unofficial visit or anything but I have seen the campus many times back when Ray Rice went there. We would go down and watch their games and I went to his dorm room.
"As for Villanova I'm just waiting on an offer to come from them. The offer should be through this week or the next week."
As you might expect Lucas is in no hurry to make a decision.
"I'm going to take my time and see what options I have," he said. "I'm not going to wait too long though because scholarships get pulled left and right."
Rutgers, UConn, Iowa, Penn State and Virginia are also showing interest in Lucas.
