Rutgers still leads for Florida OT

Miami (Fla.) Carol City offensive lineman Akeem Robinson says he’s debating whether to accept his one and only scholarship offer at this point or to continue listening to other programs who have kept him waiting.
“Rutgers is still my only offer,” he said. “I’ve talked with my parents about committing because I don’t want to wait too long and miss out on a scholarship offer, but I haven’t decided what to do yet. Florida and UM are still calling and telling me that they’re watching me. I just don’t know how long to wait.”

He will visit the Scarlet Knights officially on Dec. 5. He has yet to schedule his other four trips. South Florida, Kentucky, Kansas, N.C. State, East Carolina and Colorado State have maintained contact.
Robinson (6-4, 263, 4.9) was an established basketball star at Carol City who played tight end last year. After bulking up and attending camps this summer, he made the transition to offensive line. He’s helped lead the team to a 10-1 record entering the second round of the playoffs.
“I’ve had a pretty good season for it being the first time I’ve ever played the O-Line,” he said. “I’ve had 48 pancake blocks.”
