Rutgers offers in-state TE

Ryan Izzo is a name that has experienced growing recruiting momentum in recent weeks. The Sparta (N.J.) Pope John tight end recently picked up his first offer from Virginia Tech, and earlier today he doubled his total after a visit to Rutgers.
"I picked up my second offer today from Rutgers," said Izzo, who was one of several top recruits on campus to check out a spring practice. "It was a great experience. I got to meet the coaches and see what the players do on practice day. It was great."

Watching the practice was one of the highlights for Izzo, who is 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds.
"It was fun to watch," he said. "There was a lot of energy and the coaches seemed like they strived for perfection in every player. It was really fun to watch."
Izzo discussed his interaction with the coaching staff throughout the day and how he found out about his offer.
"The coaches commented on my film and that they really liked it," said Izzo. "Other than that they were just talking about the Rutgers offense and how I would fit in. First, Coach Cohen and my coach hinted about the offer to me and then Coach Flood brought me into his office and told me the great news."
Izzo has scheduled a few more visits this coming week.
"Monday I'm going to Temple, Tuesday I'm going back to Rutgers, and Wednesday and Thursday I'm going to Boston College," said Izzo.
