Rutgers makes push for Simmons

Though Delvon Simmons had eliminated Rutgers from consideration earlier in the recruiting process he recently told his head coach that he wouldn't mind hearing from the Scarlet Knights again.
Simmons told his head coach, Jim Ward, that he would like to get in contact with Rutgers one last time before he makes his decision.

"I think Greg Schiano had made a lasting impression on Delvon," McKeesport head coach Jim Ward explained.
"Even though he had eliminated them early on it's getting close to decision making time. Obviously they had never left his heart or his mind.
"He made mention of it to me about a week ago and in talking with Rutgers' coaches about juniors I let them know that. They wanted to see if Delvon would be willing to listen to them and he said yes. They came in that same day and Greg Schiano flew in as well. He had a chance to sit down with Delvon just as he was getting ready to go on his visit to USC."
We'll soon find out how Simmons' trip to Los Angeles has gone. How was the visit from Rutgers?
"I know the visit went well," Ward said. "I know how he feels about coach Schiano. Rutgers will be a part of the decision making process."
Simmons is still considering USC, Oregon, Rutgers, Pitt and Texas Tech.
