Rutgers makes a strong push for Rivals250 ATH

Rivals250 to watch athlete Brandon Smith continues to add offers. At this time, the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder claims approximately ten scholarships. Does he have any favorites?
"I'd say my top schools are Maryland, Syracuse, Virginia, Rutgers and Michigan," he said. "I recently went to the Rutgers junior day and it was nice. I got to see the facilities and I can say that Rutgers will always be in my top two. I really like them because I want to stay home and play in front of my family. I really like the coaches there too. I've met them before and they talk to me like a regular person and focus on school first."

At this time, Smith hasn't revealed all of the colleges that have offered.
"My offer list has grown to ten, but my coach told me not to let it out," he said. "Basically for me, I'm looking for a full ride and I want to study criminal justice. Location doesn't really matter that much. I just want to get on the field as soon as possible."
Smith plans to participate in the Nike Camp at Penn State and the Elite College Combine this spring.
Last season he accounted for over 1,000 yards of offense and nine interceptions on defense on his way to all-area and first team all-state honors.
Smith is also an accomplished basketball player that averaged 15-points a game this past year.
