Rutgers leads for Lebbie

Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha linebacker Sam Lebbie continues to hold five scholarships. The 6-foot-2, 240-pounder isn't claiming favorites at this time, but one school is making a strong impression on the prospect.
"I know Rutgers is showing me a lot of interest," he said. "They've been showing me interest since day one. They are like really stepping their game up, showing me love, they are starting to talk to my mom now and they are the only school that has talked to my mom. I'm building a relationship with the coaches and it's starting to feel like a family."

That feeling has the Scarlet Knights sticking out for Lebbie.
"It does show they are really interested in me and they are being proactive, not waiting," he said. "I already know their coaches a bit and they know me. The more we talk the more comfortable I feel with them. It doesn't matter how good the school is, my ultimate goal for real is the NFL. They'll find me whatever school I go to, so it's about who really wants me."
Lebbie holds offers from Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland, Vanderbilt and West Virginia. He claims a few others have been in contact including Oklahoma, Miami and Oregon.
The linebacker prospect is starting to make plans for spring and summer visits.
"I got a visit set up to Rutgers on April 30th for their spring game," he said. "I'll probably go to West Virginia over the summer too and Tennessee has asked me to come to camp, that's about it right now."
