Rutgers increasing lead for Hester

Lately there has been some changes to Kiy Hester's recruitment. The defensive back from Wayne (N.J.) De Paul Catholic has a top seven and a new leader.
"My top seven schools are Rutgers, Michigan State, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Miami, Virginia and North Carolina," said the 6-foot, 201-pound Hester. "Rutgers is my leader."

Earlier in the process it seemed like Rutgers was falling behind but clearly that's not the case anymore.
"Right now I've been visiting Rutgers a lot," he said. "I have a good relationship with all the coaches and I'm getting closer to them every day. Last week I came down and watched the NBA Finals with the team to help build that relationship. This being my hometown state is definitely a plus because my mom, family and friends can come watch me play. Coach Wilson, the new defensive backs coach, has definitely pulled me closer to them. I have good relationship with him. We talk on Twitter a lot and he's a good guy."
A few of Hester's other top schools are getting more attention as well.
"Right now I also like Michigan State, Ohio State, Miami and Vanderbilt a lot," Hester said. "I visited Michigan State last summer for two days, built a relationship with them and I still keep in contact with them. I'm also in contact with the coaches at Vanderbilt. I know Tre Bell pretty well. Hopefully I'll be able to get down there for a visit.
"One of my teammates (Courtel Jenkins) just committed to Miami and I'm also friends with Kevin Olsen and Al-Quadin Muhammad," he said. "They keep telling me to go down there and visit them. Ohio State has been my dream school. Once I got that offer I was really happy because I've always dreamed about playing there. I'm pretty excited that, if I commit there, my dreams could come true."
Hester is in the process of planning some visits and trying to figure out when he will make his decision.
"Right now, I'm going up to Michigan State when they play Michigan and Vanderbilt at some point," said Hester. "I'm trying to work it out with my schedule but I should be able to make a few games because most of my games are on Friday nights.
"I could make my decision at any time," he said. "My mom wants me to take a few visits so I might take a few officials."
Hester is currently ranked 250 in the Rivals250.
