Rutgers Gets New York Commitment

Gouverneur Central, NY standout linebacker/running back Brian Leonard has decided to follow his brother to Rutgers.
"Brian committed this morning," said his mother. "I think playing at the same school as Nate had something to do with it, but he was also very impressed with coach (Greg) Schiano and his staff."
Nate is Brian's older brother Nate Leonard, a junior linebacker recruited by the previous staff. Nate stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 225 pounds while Brian is 6-foot-2 and 210. Brian runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and will get his first look at linebacker.
"I think they like Brian on both sides of the ball, at least they did at camp," his mother said. "But I'm pretty sure he'll play linebacker first."
Leonard rushed for 1,850 yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior at Gouverneur Central High School. On defense he led his team with 90 tackles. Leonard is an impressive athlete who also plays basketball and runs track.
