Rivals100 quarterback Artur Sitkowski played his first three years of high school football at Old Bridge, N.J. before transferring to Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. Rutgers was always one of his favorite schools but he committed to Miami in February of this year. Now the New Jersey native has had a change of heart and has decided to play his college football closer to home.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"I just wanted to come home and build the program," Sitkowski said. "We're going to keep in-state talent at home and build a future for Rutgers."

"I was at the Morgan State game earlier this year," he said. "The coaching staff's message to me is that I should come home and make New Jersey great again. They want me to be the cornerstone and help take this state that is rich in football talent back to the promised land.

"We're going to build a culture of hard work," said Sitkowski. "We're just going to keep on working and getting better."

RIVALS' REACTION

This is obviously a massive commitment for Rutgers, the biggest that they've gotten since the 2012 recruiting class that featured five-star Darius Hamilton. The Scarlet Knights haven't had a quarterback with this much hype in a long time and head coach Chris Ash is hoping Sitkowski will be able to provide an immediate impact. A lot of people have been talking about how the new coaching staff at Rutgers is changing the program and Sitkowski's commitment is proof that it isn't just talk.
