Rutgers first to offer LB

Linebacker Blair Bines out of Shirley (N.Y.) William Floyd received his first offer of the recruiting season from the Big East.
The 6-foot-0, 225-pounder with 4.7-second speed in the 40-yard dash got his first offer from Rutgers, although he's receiving interest from plenty of other schools including Michigan, Michigan State, Syracuse, Miami and Virginia according to William Floyd head coach Paul Longo.

This past season Bines recorded 65 tackles and added six touchdowns as a fullback as he was named all-Long Island last year.
"He's a very powerful and athletic kid," Longo said. "The only question is his grades, but there's no doubt he can play Division I-A football."
So what makes Bines standout?
"It's got to be his tremendous athletic ability along with his strength and quickness."
As for what he'll play in college, it almost seems a certainty that he's destined to be a linebacker.
This spring and summer, Bines still has no plans for camps.
