Russo makes North Texas pledge

Southlake (Texas) Carroll defensive end Kyle Russo had a successful senior year with his high school coach Todd Dodge and has made a decision to follow him to the next level.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder made a commitment to North Texas where coach Dodge has landed as the new head coach. Russo says it had a lot to do with being with the legendary high school coach at the next level, but he's also not ruling out any other schools.

"North Texas is just a great place and one of the biggest secrets in the DFW area," Russo said. "They had the major I wanted, but don't get me wrong, it was about coach Dodge."
Russo says that Baylor and Wake Forest continue to show interest. Head coach Guy Morriss is coming down to find out about Russo for an in-home visit tomorrow evening.
He also holds scholarship offers from Central Florida, Air Force, and Navy. Iowa State continues to show interest as well.
"I'm pretty solid with North Texas, but if I have the opportunity to play in the ACC or the Big 12, it may be something I choose to do. You never know what can happen."
