Rumphs stock is soaring

Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge defensive end Lawrence Rumph is definitely watching his stock rise late in the recruiting process.
The 6-foot-2, 256-pounder went from just a pair of scholarship offers to a handful. Missouri and UTEP were first on the offer sheet, but now Central Florida, Houston, and TCU have all joined the mix. Baylor, SMU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Kansas are also showing interest.

"Missouri is my No. 1 team right now," Rumph said. "They're doing pretty well this season and there is just something about them that I really like. Behind them would be Central Florida and TCU."
The first official visit is set for Central Florida on Dec. 8. It looks like he'll most likely visit Missouri on Dec. 15.
"The (UCF) coach asked me about a date and I just said whenever they want me to go down, I'll go," he said. "I'm pretty sure I'll go to Missouri after that.
"After I take all of my visits, I'll make a decision."
Rumph's Fossil Ridge team has made it through the first round of the playoffs with a 24-22 win over Denton Ryan this past week. The win was a big one and was without their star, junior defensive end R.J. Washington.
"We won it for R.J., that's right," Rumph said. "He's just out with a stinger and will be back this week, but we did it for him. He just goes out and makes play and works hard for us. R.J. goes out to win."
