Rouse will delay signing

Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln wide receiver Fred Rouse has been a topic of conversation since the beginning of the recruiting year. While most assume the 6-foot-4, 190-pounder will announce his intentions on Signing Day, that is not going to be the case.
"Fred is going to visit Texas this weekend and delay his signing," said his uncle, Larry Dukes, Monday morning. "Texas has always been a school that Fred was interested in and we felt it would be best not to rush things and to take a look. We spoke to Texas and they know we're coming. He'll either go from Friday to Sunday or possibly from Thursday to Saturday."

The No. 6 player in the country took an official visit to Florida State this past weekend and has already visited Alabama and Miami.
"Florida State went well and he really loved his Alabama visit," said Dukes. "I wasn't on that visit with him, but he really loved it. He also liked Miami and Miami was the only team that didn't promise him immediate playing time. You have to respect that. Texas and Alabama told him he would start right away and Florida State said he wouldn't redshirt."
Could a fifth visit be in the works?
"Right now it doesn't look that way," he said. "But LSU really wants him to visit. Les Miles was in the house already and they know that Fred is very good friends with Ryan Perrilloux and they're pretty confident that Ryan will go to LSU. If Fred visits Texas and comes back and is still having trouble narrowing things down to three top schools in making a decision, then we'll re-evaluate things."
Rouse hopes to make his commitment sometime next week, possibly on ESPN.
