MIAMI--If there is any 18-year old high school football player in the country who can captivate an entire fan base with a quote, its Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln wide receiver Fred Rouse. It took Rouse a long time to narrow down his list of favorites, but now that he has done so, he is strictly focused entirely on them and has been shy about tipping his hand at all.
"Right now everything is pretty much the same," Rouse said. "It's Miami, Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma and Florida State. It's dead even between all of them. I know some people think I might be leaning one way or another, but it's a 20-percent chance for each of them. I'm just going to sit back and take all of my visits and go from there."
In all-star games committed recruits often try to pitch their school to the guys that have yet to make a decision. As you might expect Rouse is hearing it from just about every committed recruit in attendance and he seems to be enjoying the opinions of his teammates.
"I am hearing it from a lot of different guys," Rouse said. "These guys are coming up and talking to me about their school and telling me what it has to offer. It's really fun to listen to all of those guys and hear their feedback on all of these different schools. It gives you a different perspective and shows you what their recruitment was like. This week has already been fun so far and I am really looking forward to the rest of the week. Hopefully we can show those west coast guys that we can play down here in the South, either way it should be a lot of fun."
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Rouse is ranked as the No. 3 overall player in the nation and is ranked as the nation's top wide receiver and the top prospect in the Sunshine State.
