Ross set for visit No. 1

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive back David Ross was expected to visit Nebraska a few weeks back but he was forced to re-schedule the trip. The talented athlete will now head to Lincoln this weekend for the Huskers monster showdown with Texas.
Ross, 6-2, 170 pounds is one of the elite defensive backs in the West region this year. He's a good looking cornerback prospect who we think may project best at safety because of his size and physical style of play.

"I'm really looking forward to this visit," Ross said. "I've heard a lot of great things about the Nebraska trips and how much the fans do for the players. I heard they chant their names and make you feel like you're already part of the team and I can't wait to experience all that.
"Nebraska has great tradition and put a lot of players in to the League (NFL) every year. They really have a good reputation for producing quality defensive backs as well and I'm one of the first players from my school that Nebraska has recruited so I can't wait to get out there.
"We play Friday night and then I'm going to jump on the red-eye around 11:30 that night. I'll probably be pretty tired when I get in Saturday morning but it will be worth it. I also have a visit set to Oregon for (Dec. 1) and I plan on taking all five of my trips for sure.
"The only other school I know I'll visit is Washington. After that, there are a lot of schools I'm still considering. Cal, Michigan, UNLV and Mississippi are just a few more off the top of my head that I like a lot. Oregon is my top school right now, I really like them a lot. After that, USC and Nebraska would round out my top three.
"USC hasn't offered, the others have but they call every week. I hope they offer but I'm not going to wait around forever. I'll say if they haven't offered by December, that will probably be when I decide to scratch them off because if they haven't offered by then, they probably won't."
