Detroit (Mich.) Western International running back Romello Ross made an early splash on the recruiting scene, and his commitment came early as well.

"I just committed to Central [Michigan]," Ross reported. "I just called Coach [Dan] Enos a minute ago. I just told him I'm ready to 'Fire up Chips!' He was excited to have me on board with Central and have me a part of the Central family."
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Ross said he received his offer from Central Michigan a few weeks earlier. He has made two visits to the campus and plans to be back in Mount Pleasant this weekend.
"I want to go with a school that wants to go with me," Ross said. "I don't just want to go to a school because of a title and then not play. I feel at Central I will have a chance to provide for their program."
Ross is the first commitment in the 2015 class for Central Michigan. He broke on the scene as a freshman at Detroit Southwestern High, rushing for over 1,300 yards and grabbing six interceptions on defense.
