Ross is back on the market

Dan Mullen left Mississippi State to take over as the head football coach at Florida and Tyrese Ross has decided Starkville is not the place for him.

The 6-foot-1, 180 pound defensive back out of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake has de-committed from Mississippi State.

It came down to relationships.

"I have re-opened my recruitment and I am 100-percent open to all schools now," said Ross. "I am very big on relationships and I feel that it would not be in the best interest at heart to stay committed.

"Coach Mullen is leaving and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is leaving too, so not knowing who the new coaches coming in will be has led me to open things back up."

Ross was just in Starkville a few weeks ago for the Alabama game. He is set to start his recruitment over and he is planning to sign his letter of intent February 7, 2018.

Jim Moorehead is the new head coach at Mississippi State. He was named to that position Tuesday night.
