Ross hoping to decide soon

One name that has been in the news quite a bit recently and not just for his play on the football field, is Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) defensive back Devin Ross. Ross was suspended for a recent game and rumors have swirled over the reason why.
"Yeah, I've heard some crazy things," Ross laughed. "It was just some family stuff but I played this past weekend and everything is behind me now. We won and I played pretty well. I caught a touchdown on offense and made a lot of tackles on defense. I'm just focusing on our season and helping our team go all the way this year."

Ross, 5-11, 185 pounds has also been working hard on his academics and feels he's doing what he needs to do to land a scholarship offer from the top school on his board.
"I just completed an Algebra 2 class at an extension school and got an A on it," Ross said. "UCLA has been waiting on that course and I'm planning to send them my updated transcripts tomorrow. They have also been monitoring my 1st quarter grades and on my track there as well and my core GPA is where it needs to be. Our 1st quarter ends November 15 and I've done everything I've been asked to do.
"UCLA is my top school right now and they're really playing well. I've been watching them all season and they have a good thing going right now. That's my top choice and I would like to commit pretty soon but I've been waiting to get my list down to about three schools or so until I find out if UCLA offers or not.
"If they decide not to offer me, I'll just have to turn my focus on the other schools that I'm looking at. Those would be Oregon, Cal, Arizona and Arizona State. I've already seen all those schools on unofficial visits and I haven't decided if I'll take official visits yet. I took an official visit to Oregon and liked it a lot but I don't know if I'll take the others because like I said, I want to get this over with pretty soon here."
